Wear the proper clothing!
Warehouse staff and volunteers must wear closed toe shoes, shirtsleeves and long shorts or pants.
Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in the warehouse! Eating and drinking are allowed only in the break room. Smoking is permitted only outside in a designated area. Persons under 18 years of age are not permitted to smoke while at Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana.
Wash your hands! Hands must be washed before returning to work, after using the bathroom, smoking, eating, or drinking.
Keep the work area in good condition! Good housekeeping is necessary in accident prevention. Sweep and mop all spills immediately.
Use proper lifting techniques! Save your back by following proper lifting techniques.
Horseplay is not permitted! Report all unsafe conditions or practices observed to a Second Harvest staff member.
Electrical work and powered equipment are for the use of authorized staff only! Report all equipment problems to a Second Harvest staff member.
Climbing on warehouse equipment and machinery is not permitted! Climbing on equipment, machinery, racks, pallet stacks, etc. is prohibited.
Fire emergency exits, extinguishers, alarm boxes, and white lines must remain clear! In case of fire or fire drill immediately stop what you are doing and proceed in an orderly fashion to the nearest exit.
Listen for the honk and watch your toes! Forklift drivers will alert you with the horn before turning corners.
Alcohol, narcotics, and weapons are prohibited! The possession and use of firearms, any type of weapon, alcohol, and narcotics is strictly forbidden.
