Coffee and Q & A with Senator Lugar Saturday Nov 15
U.S.Senator Dick Lugar is scheduled to visit Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana Saturday morning, November 15 for coffee and conversation from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Guests are invited to arrive at 8:45 AM and will have the opportunity to meet the Senator and to participate in a question/answer session.
We are very excited to have Senator Lugar tour our facility and talk about hunger issues in this region. His support secured nearly $1,000,000 in federal appropriations for our emergency relocation. We look forward to this opportunity to thank him and to make time for the community to do so as well.
“Second Harvest of East Central Indiana makes an important difference in the lives of so many people, and it depends on contributions from citizens to meet the needs of local food pantries,” Lugar said. “I am looking forward to seeing Second Harvest’s new facility and visiting with members of the community.”
Tickets are required for the event and are $25 per person. They may be purchased at the door. Students will be admitted free of charge. All proceeds will benefit the food bank’s campaign Second Harvest on the Move, a Region Responds to Ending Hunger and will qualify to meet the recently awarded challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation.
