With the donations received from community food drives, retail partnerships and the Feeding America network, we work to provide solutions to the hunger crisis through our programs such as The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), the Tailgate Program (mobile food pantry), the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and national children's programs of Feeding America (BackPack Program and Kids Cafe). We are constantly looking into new programs that will help us fight hunger in East Central Indiana.
Through CSFP, the USDA provides nutritious commodities to help State and Local agencies meet the nutritional needs of low-income elderly persons.
If you are a not-for-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization serving the ill, needy, or children your organization is probably eligible for membership.
Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana is the link between the food industry and residents in need of food assistance. Among 130 pantries and meal programs that form a regional safety net, there are 57 food pantries, 6 soup kitchens, 7 shelters, and 13 daycares that are partners determined to end hunger.
