Volunteer Opportunities

Administrative
Second Harvest Food Bank staff needs dedicated volunteers to help with administrative projects.  Tasks include, but are not limited to Excel spreadsheet work, database updating, filing, compiling mailings, conducting web-based research, helping with finance projects, and more.  Help is needed Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Please contact Joe Fox for more information.

Warehouse
Volunteers are needed for various projects at the Muncie warehouse including outside grounds maintenance, inside maintenance, assembling food orders, truck driving, and janitorial/cleaning.  Please contact Joe Fox for more information. Check out our opportunities through VolunteerMatch.org 

Kids Cafe
All volunteers for Kids Cafes must pass a national criminal background check.  Opportunities available tutoring, programs, supervision of children, menu preparation, meal planning and nutrition education.  Possible sites include Kids Cafe Buley Center, Muncie; Kids Cafe After School Fun, Anderson; and Kids Cafe St. Martin’s, Marion.  For more information, contact Erin Rockhill. 

Tailgate
Help the Food Bank staff distribute food to those in need.  Volunteers are needed to help with Tailgate distributions in all 8 counties we serve (Blackford, Delaware, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, and Wabash).  Tasks include carrying & loading boxes of food into client vehicles during the distribution.  Help is needed on a regular basis.  For more information, contact Nicole Miles.
